DIY Clean Laundry Detergent

I’ve been slowly changing over all of our detergent and cleaners to “clean” products over the past few years. Recently, I switched over to Young Living products and thought I’d give the Thieves Laundry Soap (detergent) a try. If you see the price, you might think it’s expensive for 946ml (If you’re a member, it’s $37.95) but this is what I do to make it go a little bit further in our house. It’s super simple and easy and will help the detergent go a bit further.

I prefer to use glass containers in our house instead of plastic. These are similar to the jars that I use. They come with a black lid but I spray-painted mine white.

Here’s What to Do:

  1. Divide the laundry detergent into three glass jars.
  2. Once you have filled your jars with the detergent, pour two tablespoons of Thieves household cleaner into each jar.
  3. If you want to add essential oils, you can add them as well. The laundry detergent is citrus scented so I didn’t add any other oils. I usually prefer non-scented products anyways.
  4. The last step is to add hot water to fill your container and give it a shake.
NOTE: When you’re ready to use the detergent, if you attach a pump, add 2 pumps to a large load of laundry.
