When I’m Busy and Don’t Have Time to Make Dinner

Let’s just say the story of my life right now involves being busy most of the time. I am definitely a homey person who loves to spend downtime, at home, with my family. This year David and I are both working full-time so at times, it feels like we’re always on the go, especially if we have extra commitments during the week.

This past week was just like that. When David and I were talking about our week ahead of time, it became very clear that there was some commitment that either one of us had to go to each day. Providing healthy meals for our family is important. This coming winter I want to try to reduce (or eliminate) the amount of sugar we consume to see how much of an influence it has on our health. Getting through winter without getting the flu would be ah-mazing!

Last night, we all got home later than expected and I didn’t want to spend a lot of time making dinner. I had originally planned to make soup which was perfect because it had been such a dreary day. We had the Chowder Lover’s Soup made by Simply Delish Soup and Salads. This soup is vegan, gluten free, MSG-free and de-lish.

I first came across these soups at a local market. I sampled a few and enjoyed every spoonful. We all live busy lives but that doesn’t mean we can’t eat healthy food. I love how how quickly I can make the soups and that they call for very few extra ingredients. I often make a pot and we have leftovers the next day. Another favorite of ours that I like to stock up on is the “Chicken” noodle soup which is plant-based as well.

These soups are absolutely delicious and are made locally. Nowadays I don’t have a lot of time to spend making dinner so these soups have definitely enabled me to do just that.
