Press Here

When I come across a great book, I love to share it. As a teacher, I’ve met kids that love to read and others that don’t (or at least say they don’t) like to read. I believe that all kids can grow to love reading when given some tools including: exposure to different genres and authors, seeing others read and talk about their reading (especially making real life connections), having others read aloud to them, being taught various reading strategies, etc. It really does start at a young age.

That said, having little ones has expanded my repertoire of children’s books. One that we have that we all LOVE is called Press Here. Written by Herve Tullet, this interactive book is perfect for kids 2 years and up. That said, younger kids would enjoy having this book read to them as well.

Spencer is an active boy who is always on the move. This book is one that he often asks for before bedtime. Not only is it interactive, it gets the kids involved in the reading experience (The book is even involved – you’ll have to read it to find out how), it introduces colors, new vocabulary and directions.

This is one book that I HIGHLY recommend!

There’s nothing quite like seeing your kids excited about reading.
