Neutral Outfit

Yesterday the kids and I spent sometime in Fort Langley. When we left home, it was cloudy and looked like it might rain. It’s June but we live in Raincouver so anything is possible.

I’ve been wearing my mom jeans a lot lately. I wanted to switch it up today and opted for a pair of distressed jeans. These were my favorite jeans last year. I loved them so much that I bought a size up when I was pregnant with Emme. They’re a part of the Gap’s 1969 collection. I love the distressing (the more you wash them, the more distressed they become), the narrow leg and the light wash. They’re a mid-rise fit which is always great if you’re wanting a bit of coverage. I find them extremely comfortable to wear; they’re not stiff and yet they have some structure.

Because the weather seems so unpredictable these days, I paired the jeans with a light-weight turtleneck. This one is also from the Gap. It’s super soft and fits close to the body. I love the navy stripes as they give a nautical feel.

I decided to finish off the look with a platform espadrille. Espadrilles are a summer shoe. They’re so versatile; they can be paired with jeans, shorts or a midi skirt. I wanted a bit of a lift so I went with the platform version. These shoes are so comfortable and an added bonus, I can chase after Spencer in them.
