Adopt a Puppy Party

This past weekend we celebrated Emme’s birthday. If there’s one thing my kids LOVE, it’s celebrating birthdays. This one was no different. Both my kids want a dog, but Emme is more in love with dogs than her brother. Whenever she sees one, she wants to pet it.

I don’t think we’ll be getting a dog any time soon so the next best thing was to host a puppy party for her. She was excited as ever and wouldn’t stop talking about her dog bur-day for weeks. It got to the point that I showed her the birthday invitation on my phone and she always wanted to look at it.

Here are a few highlights from the birthday:

  • The invitations were super cute. Instead of printing them, I ordered a j-peg file and emailed or texted them to friends.
  • The guests filled out a puppy adoption certificate upon their arrival and then colored a dog tag that they then put on their puppies.
  • The favors were a hit – I ordered puppies (stuffed animal ones) from IKEA and each guest got to take one home. The kids LOVED these
  • I had coloring sheets available for those who wanted to color. I found these online.
  • I also created a photo booth. I found gift wrap paper at Winner’s and attached it to the wall. I then found ready-made photo booth props at the dollar store.
  • The cake and cupcakes were made by the lovely, Shar of Cakery Bakery. She has been the best to work with and her cakes/cupcakes always taste amazing! You can check out her business on Facebook (Cakery Bakery).Adopt a Puppy
