Mother’s Day Gift Guide

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I have always loved this day – a special day set aside to show my mom how much she is loved and appreciated.

As a new mom, I often find myself reflecting on my childhood and what my mom did in certain situations. I find myself in awe of her and all that she did for us. She raised five kids and made each and every one of us feel unique and special.

Becoming a mother is so rewarding but is filled with challenges. One thing that I have appreciated is that on Mother’s Day, my mom takes the time to celebrate her daughters that have become mothers (she does this on Father’s Day too for David and my brother-in-law). It definitely isn’t something she has to do but it is extremely thoughtful of her and we appreciate her doing it.

I am a big fan of supporting local businesses so I decided come up with a list of Mother’s Day gifts (that I LOVE) that include goods that are made in the Metro Vancouver area.

S’Well Bottle – Because you doesn’t need a little extra hydration?? Sometimes a whole day can go by and I realize that I haven’t had enough water to drink. A few months ago, I bought myself a water bottle as motivation (and as a reminder) to drink more water during the day. I love the simplicity of this one and the fact that it is stainless steel as I’m trying to remove as much plastic from our house as possible.

Canvas Candle Co. Candle – I was recently at a local market and bought the Best Coast candle and it has a beautiful, earthy fragrance!

Pink House Organics Glow Stick – I love my rose gold glow stick. A few words to describe it: organic. natural. glow.

Blue Owl Designs – I’ve had my eye on this sweater. It’s a great reminder too!

Thirstystone Measuring Spoons – Speaking of beautiful things, I came across these measuring spoons and thought they were so beautiful. They might even motivate me to bake more.

Indulge Bath Soak – Perfect for relaxation. K’Pure also has a Mother’s Day Gift box available. If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll know how much I love these products.

Polaroid Zip Mobile Printer – I love mini-sized things – not quite sure why but I do. When I came across this printer I thought it was perfect. It doesn’t take up a lot of space, it makes photo printing quick and easy and you can print straight from your smart phone.

Fitbit Bangle – I must admit, I haven’t completely jumped on the activity tracker bandwagon just yet. I guess I’m more of a traditionalist when it comes to working out. I have a set routine that I do and I (try) to do it. If I were to get an activity tracker it would be something like this because it doesn’t look like one. I’m not really into wearing an athletic-looking band on my wrist but that’s just me.

Strong as a Mother Tee – I have to admit, I hinted to David that I wanted this t-shirt for Mother’s Day. I love its message.

Slippers – I ask for these every Christmas and by the end of the year, they are worn out. I love how soft and lightweight they are, yet they have a hard sole.

Mother’s Day Card – I came across this card made by Pixel Paper Hearts and LOVED it. I immediately thought my mom could relate to it (especially with having 5 kids calling her all of the time for something).

Flowers – There’s something about a bouquet of flowers that just makes my day – maybe it’s because of the long winter that we’ve had. I absolutely love everything that I get from Confetti Floral. They carry unique flowers and are always willing to customize the perfect bouquet.

Richmond and Finch Marble Phone Case – Don’t get me started on this one. Let’s just say someone convinced me to buy a screen protector instead of a case and the screen of my new phone cracked (for the first time ever!) I’m a huge cell phone case proponent and this one is beautiful.
